The Torch Run Helps Special Olympics
Each Year, law enforcement officers from across the state raise money for Special Olympics North Carolina by conducting the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. This year's Orange County Law Enforcement Torch Run will be held on Wednesday, May 29th.
2013 makes the 32nd year of the North Carolina Law Enforcement Torch Run, and since the program began, more than $17 million has been raised for Special Olympics North Carolina. In 2011 more than 4,000 North Carolina law enforcement officials raised close to $1 million dollars to help thousands of athletes with mental retardation train and compete in sports.
