Conversation about Community Safety

All are invited to come together for a conversation about community safety at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at DSI Comedy Theater, 462 W. Franklin St.

This event will allow a safe place for everyone to gather and share their thoughts about community safety and how we as a whole can work on #BuildingCommunityResilience. We will focus on making connections with your fellow community members, doing no harm while staying in your comfort zone, recognizing what to do to take care of yourself and practicing empathy to promote resilience.

Building Community Resilience
Building Community Resilience is a group of community members, including Town staff and religious and education leaders, formed as a response to violence and harassment in our community. The group developed this event in response to the increasing frequency of violence seen worldwide and the recognition that communities are struggling with how best to prepare physically, emotionally and psychologically.

We’re All In This Together
Community safety relies on teamwork between Town staff and community members. By encouraging open communication and collaboration, we work together to ensure that our community is a place for everyone.
