In January, the Town of Chapel Hill is improving the intersection of Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. and North Street near Fire Station One and Town Hall. Plans include "squaring up" the four points of the intersection to improve safety.
The Chapel Hill Town Council met on Monday, December 18 at 7:00 pm. The full agenda and meeting minutes are available on the Town’s website. Beginning with January 10, 2024 meeting, Council meetings will start at 6:00 pm.

Investigators are working to identify and find a man who assaulted a woman at her front door in the 5000 block of Old Chapel Hill Road at around 6:14 this morning.
The Chapel Hill Police Department is planning several pedestrian safety enforcement operations in December, in addition to normal patrols. Officers are also reminding drivers to account for nighttime driving dangers beginning as early as the evening drive home from work.
