Community Meeting

Date:  Monday, January 23, 2017

Time: Noon-1pm and 5pm-6:30pm - Light lunch and dinner food provided.

Where:  Hargraves Community Center: 216 N. Roberson St, Chapel Hill, NC 27516 (link to directions here)

What:  A review of the first draft of the West Rosemary Street Development Guide and information about how feasible the ideas are from a market perspective.  Please see www.townofchapelhill.org/rosemary for more information.

Why:  To establish a community vision for the corridor that can be used by the Town Council, the neighborhood and the development community when they are considering projects and investments.  Please review this video for a visual narration about the project and upcoming meeting.

Background

Project Goal:  To create guidelines and regulations with visual representation of design concepts for West Rosemary Street regarding commercial and economic development that are consistent with the vision statements of the Northside Neighborhood Conservation District.

Starting Point:  Creation of the West Rosemary Street Development Guide will build upon the principles and goals for the district reflected in previous planning initiatives, including the Northside Neighborhood Conservation District vision statements and Rosemary Imagined (illustrated in Figure 1 below).  Also included will be the recent economic development collaboration with Orange County and the University. 

Stakeholders:  Project communication will continue to reach out to stakeholders that include but are not limited to the range of perspectives listed below.
