In 2017 Hanover Development submitted a Concept Plan to Council to consider redeveloping the front 10 acres of this site.  Because of the mobile home community located on the property and Council's desire to help facilitate the relocation of these families, Council was interested in exploring a different approach.

In 2019 the Council Committee on Economic Sustainability (CCES) agreed to proceed with a market study to begin thinking about what the market might support on these sites.  The over arching goal that came out of that Market Study was an interest in building better connections for pedestrians and cyclists and to create a connection point, with a green space, for all areas around the district.

After completing the Market Study, the Committee decided to explore the economic feasibility of what might be built on the site.  Land prices for the two parcels is a substantial component of what drives site use, in combination with what the market can support.

Council has agreed to pursue an entitlement of the properties to guide the community vision for future development.  There are multiple developers who have attended CCES meetings with an interest in being a partner in developing the plan, once adopted by Council.  Our next step is to evaluate the infrastructure cost, as well as the need for affordable housing on the site.
