Blue Hill District (formerly Ephesus-Fordham) Design Guidelines
The Town of Chapel Hill is developing a set of design guidelines that will be applied to projects in the Blue Hill District (formerly known as the Ephesus/Fordham District). This public open house offers a chance to learn about the draft Design Guidelines document and provide input. The draft is available to download at the project web page.
Key topics in the Design Guidelines include streetscape and public realm, pedestrian connectivity, outdoor amenity space, transitions between sites, building mass, and building elements. The Design Guidelines will be used by Town staff and the Community Design Commission in evaluating whether a proposed development meets the intent of the District's Form-Based Code. The Town has engaged Winter & Company to serve as project consultant.
