Goal: The Historic Civil Rights Commemorations Task Force will create a timeline that identifies people, places and events which should be remembered for their part in the African American struggle for civil rights in Chapel Hill, including the sit-in at the Colonial Drugstore and the Lincoln High students whose actions ignited the integration movement in Chapel Hill. This timeline should also tell the story that Chapel Hill played in our nation’s civil rights movement.
