Council Naming Committee Meeting - Virtual Only

The Council Naming Committee meets ad hoc to make recommendations for naming or dedicating Town facilities, and for placing any permanent markers or plaques on Town property.
“Notice is being provided that this meeting, in addition to being for a Mayor/Council Committee, would also constitute a meeting of the Town Council under the open meetings laws if five or more Council members attend. Only recommendations are formulated at committee meetings. Recommendations will be considered at a regular Council meeting for official action by the Council."

WELCOME/CALL TO ORDER • John French will present a recommendation to name portions of Hargraves Community Center for Mr. Nate Davis and Mr. Fred Battle. • Anna Richards will present, for a courtesy review, the NAACP’s request to place a plaque on the Hargraves building in conjunction with their 75th anniversary celebrations. • Anita Badrock will present a petition from community members to rename Dixie Drive with time for public input. |
