Community Open House: Downtown Mobility Plan

Town staff and consultant staff from Toole Design will be available to answer questions and receive input on the Downtown Multimodal Mobility Plan.

The result of this study will be a new vision of how people move throughout Downtown Chapel Hill. The findings will include suggestions to improve the current traffic flow and circulation issues that contribute to limiting the economic vitality of Downtown businesses. The goal of this project is to help the Council and Town staff make decisions that improve the safety of pedestrians, bikes, cars, and buses in Downtown Chapel Hill.

The Community Open House will be an opportunity for interested community members to share their thoughts as the study is being conducted. There will be a virtual opportunity to provide feedback during this time. Details on virtual participation will be posted closer to the event date. There will be additional opportunities for public engagement at the end of May.

Register for virtual participation here. There will be a brief presentation by project staff in 30 minutes intervals, followed by an overview of how to contribute feedback remotely. It's recommended to join to virtual house stating at 5:30 pm, 6:00 pm, or 6:30pm to get a full overview of the initiative. The presentation will be recorded and posted to the project page after the event. Online comments and feedback will be received for one week following this open house.

More information about the project's mission and timeline can be found here.

Please contact Sarah Potter at spotter@townofchapelhill.org or 919. 968. 2740 if you have questions about the event.
