Trash and Recycling Collection
Yard trimmings will not be collected on Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29. No make-up days.
Curbside recycling will not be collected on Thursday, Nov. 28. Thursday routes will be collected on Friday, Nov. 29. Friday recycling will be collected on Saturday, Nov. 30.
Orange County Landfill and Waste & Recycling Centers will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28, and open Friday, Nov. 29.
Commercial trash will not be collected on Thursday, Nov. 28 and Friday, Nov. 29. Collections will be completed earlier in the week.
Residential trash collection will not be affected.
Chapel Hill Public Library will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29.
Chapel Hill Transit will not operate on Thursday, Nov. 28; Sunday service on Friday, Nov. 29.
Public Housing Office and Maintenance Division will be closed. For emergency maintenance services, call (919) 968-2855.
Parks and Recreation
All Parks & Rec facilities will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28.
Facilities open 10am–7pm on Friday, Nov. 29: Chapel Hill Community Center and Indoor Pool, Nate Davis Sr. Gymnasium.
Facilities closed on Friday, Nov. 29: Administrative Offices, Hargraves Center, Teen Center and Homestead Aquatics Center.
Parks, greenways, trails, dog parks, playgrounds, picnic shelters, and outdoor park amenities are all open. We encourage you to get outside and enjoy being active.
