Site plans, at their minimum, must contain the following elements.   

• Existing conditions on the entire lot
• Setback lines
• Location and dimensions of proposed work
• Heights of new structures
• Land disturbance area
• Impervious Surface Area
• Contours / Slope
• Erosion control measures

   

   If applicable:

• RCD areas, floodplains, and streams
• Drainage plan for new downspouts
• Landscape Protection Plan 

Please include:

• Property Address and PIN Number 
• Date of drawing and the name and affiliation of the preparer
• North arrow
• Zoning District and Special Protection Areas

A land disturbance includes any activity that changes the surface of the land, such as grading, digging, cutting, scraping, compaction, or excavation of soil, placement of fill materials, paving, construction, substantial removal of vegetation, or any activity which bares soil or rock or involves the diversion or piping of any natural or man-made watercourse.

If your project disturbs more than 5,000 sqft of land, you will need to conduct a landscape protection plan. 

Building Plan Requirements

Commercial Plans

Must show all architectural and structural work. These should be submitted with details such as dimensions, cross sections, areas of work marked out and be at a minimum plan view (View from top) format. Except for minor revisions, detailed drawings for any plumbing, mechanical or electrical work proposed must be included.

• Life safety sheet showing egress paths, travel distances, location, size and swing of all doors, exit signage, and location of lighting. Must be a scaled drawing.
