Home MenuInterpretation Equipment
The Town of Chapel Hill loans interpretation equipment to community members and organizations at no charge. This equipment makes communications accessible in languages other than English and aligns with the goals and strategies set forth in the Town's Strategic Plan, the Town’s Building Integrated Communities Action Plan, and the Town’s Language Access Plan.
Interpretation Equipment Details:
The Town’s interpretation equipment includes 50 headsets and 3 transmitters. Up to 50 people can use the equipment and up to 3 languages can be simultaneously interpreted.
Simultaneous interpretation is used for large group meetings in which the speaker does not pause, and interpretation is delivered in real-time.
