More Info
Participants must be at least 6 years of age for open climb.

The indoor climbing wall inside the Chapel Hill Community Center gymnasium provides opportunities for climbers of all skill levels to train and exercise with other local climbers.  There are about 50 different routes to choose, ranging from beginner to expert.  Bouldering area is also available for practice or for kids without a belayer.  There is a climbing wall attendant present during all sessions to supervise climbers and answer questions.

A limited number of harnesses and helmets are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. You are welcomed to bring your own safety-approved harness.  Specialized climbing shoes are available to rent for $3.  Note:  All participants under 18 years must have a release form signed by a parent/guardian before using the wall during wall hours.

Belay Testing
Belayers must annually pass a certification test by demonstrating proper use of the equipment, including the GriGri belay safety device. Belayers must be at least 13 years old. No charge if you are only belaying someone and not climbing.
