Description: This application proposes construction of a 9,000 square foot preschool on a four acre lot for 100 students and 22 staff. This application proposes 36 parking spaces and eight temporary drop-off spaces for a total of 44 spaces.
Note: The Chapel Hill Cooperative Preschool has a valid approved Site Plan Review application (Project 16-088) that allows them to construct the 9,000 square foot preschool for 80 students and 20 staff with a minimum of 23 parking spaces and associated site improvements, provided that onsite land disturbance is limited to 40,000 square feet. Effect of a Decision on the Special Use Permit Application: Should the Town Council approve the new application, the net change would be to amend and supersede the existing approval. This would result in an increase in the number of allowed number of students from 80 to 100 and staff from 20 to 22, an increase of 21 parking spaces, as well as an increase in land disturbance from 40,000 to 51,000 square feet, as proposed.
