Post-pandemic, we are committed to operating our service consistently, reliably, and safely.

Thanks to rebounding staffing levels, we have been able to restore trips on many routes that saw service reductions. We are invested in recruiting and retaining Operators and Supervisors, and have been successful in increasing starting salaries for Team Members.

We are also monitoring route data and listening to our customers' feedback. Plans to restore service emphasize trips that equitably help schools, access to jobs, and neighborhoods.

Carolina Livery continues to run our B, CCX, and JFX routes.

Many safety measures remain in place to keep our customers and team members healthy. We thank everyone who kept us running during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Health and Safety Measures

  • Masks are optional
  • Air filtration: HEPA filters were installed and air is filtered onboard
  • All door boarding: gives customers the option of physically distancing
  • Enforcement of the standee line: the yellow line that all customers must stand behind while the bus is in motion
  • Team members:
    • Chapel Hill Operators have personal protective equipment available for their use
    • Vehicles and the transit facility are sanitized at least twice a day.
    • All personnel complete a health screening prior to reporting to work and are required to stay home if sick.
    • Partitions remain in place between Operator's seat and boarding customers.
