Read the 2024 Employee Survey Recommendations.

Be Honest. Be Heard. Be a Part of the Change.

The 2023 Employee Survey is open and we want ALL employees to participate. The survey will give us a sense of what it is like to work here, what areas we are doing well in, and what areas need improvement.  

On Monday, November 27, every employee will receive an email with a secure, unique link to the survey. The survey takes 20 - 30 minutes to complete and asks questions on a variety of topics.  

Why are we doing this?

We want to have a great workplace where all our employees can thrive. The only way to do that is to ask employees questions, understand their answers, create a plan to improve, and commit to making those improvements.  

We are committed to making changes based on what we hear. The survey - and the subsequent improvements – are a top priority for the Town Manager and Senior Leadership Team.  

Who’s conducting the survey? 

The UNC School of Government (SOG) is administering the survey, with guidance from an interdepartmental planning committee and the Employee Forum. The SOG is a trusted, well-known provider of these surveys for local governments throughout the state.  

The survey results are confidential – only two people at the SOG working on this will be able to see all the data and personally identifiable information. The Town will receive summary data and reports for the organization and the departments, but all personally identifiable information will be removed from those reports.  

We value your perspective and participation so much that we’ve also asked the SOG coordinate an incentive program for the survey. Everyone that completes the survey will be entered into a weekly drawing, administered by the SOG. Each week of the survey period, they will give away ten $50 VISA gift cards.
